Dear CGPS Families,
Friday, February 21st, will be an AMI Day. After driving our bus routes, we found that there are still slick spots, specifically near bus stops. Additionally, dangerously low temperatures are expected again Friday morning. We do not want students walking to school or waiting for the bus in such frigid temperatures.
We understand that having students stay home may cause some inconveniences for families, and we are very sorry for this. However, we feel this is our safest option for tomorrow. We are looking forward to those warmer temperatures that are just around the corner so we can welcome our students and staff back to campus.
We wish you all a safe weekend!

Dear CGPS Families,
We will be using another AMI Day on Thursday, February 20. The roads are still too dangerous in some areas and it will be extremely cold tomorrow. We feel it is safest to keep everyone home.
For more information on assignments, please look for messages from your student’s building. If you have any questions, please reach out to your principal or teacher.
Stay safe and warm!

Dear Tiger Families,
Students will not come to school on Wednesday, February 19, because of the snow and dangerous road conditions. Wednesday will be an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day. Students will either do online assignments or finish work that was sent home. Your student’s building will share more information about assignments for Wednesday.
Thank you for your time and stay safe.
Have a great evening!

Three records were broken and Karsynne McAlister was named the MVP at the 2025 SEMO Conference Meet! Way to go, ladies!

Dear Families, We want to inform you that due to a fire at an apartment complex in the neighborhood near Terry W. Kitchen Central Junior High (by the old “bubble”/pool), some of our bus routes will be temporarily rerouted. This may result in delays and changes to pickup locations. If your child’s bus stop is at the apartment complex, please note that they will be dropped off in front of the junior high gymnasium. Again, the fire is at the apartment complex that is close to the pool parking lot at the junior high and not on our campus or involving any of our buildings. Please be patient with us as buses could be delayed due to traffic in the area. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. Thank you for your support! -CGPS *Note, this message was also sent via email and text to families. It is also posted on Facebook.

Congratulations to Aimee Caldwell and Sienna Hahn for being selected to the Missouri All-State Choir. Sienna was unable to make the performance due to illness, but Aimee traveled to perform with other talented singers from across the state. Aimee also participated in this year's sight-singing bee for students with the top sight-reading scores. Both students will perform in this summer's All-State Festival Choir in July.

Dear Tiger Families,
Students will not come to school on Friday, January 10, 2025, because a winter storm is expected overnight. Instead, Friday will be an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day. Teachers worked with students today to get them ready for at-home learning. Students will either do online assignments or finish work that was sent home. Your student’s building will share more information about their assignments.
The National Weather Service says our area may get 5 to 7 inches of snow on Friday, with at least 2 to 3 inches by morning. While weather can change, we want to keep everyone safe and avoid putting buses on slick roads.
Thank you for understanding and working with us. Stay safe and prepare for more winter weather coming soon.
Have a great evening!

👮♂️ Officer Scroggins visited Alma Schrader today, responding to a report of some unruly elves!
The elves had caused a mess in Mrs. Bittle’s classroom and were enjoying a spa day by the time he caught up to them.
Look for a story on KFVS! 🎥
