If you visit Alma Schrader during the 2022-2023 school year, chances are you'll notice a new member of the family. Maggie, a rescue pup, has the very important title of official Alma Schrader Therapy Dog.
Maggie passed her Therapy Dog Certification, AKC Advanced Canine Good Citizen and AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen tests and is ready to become an official working therapy dog.
Maggie's handler is Nurse Kim and will be in her office most of the day but will travel throughout the building with Nurse Kim.
Maggie is the pilot dog for this very special program with our friends at SEMO Pets. The K9 Training Center and Nita Eichman helped get Maggie ready for this very special job. The Cape Girardeau Public Schools Foundation helped fund Maggie's testing and certification.
