Cape Central High senior Mitzi-Quintas-Cruz is blending art, culture and entrepreneurship through her unique business, Candle Cruz. Inspired by her Mexican-American heritage, the teen handcrafts candles in pottery imported from Oaxaca, Mexico. Her business began as a school project but has blossomed into a thriving venture, earning her recognition at the Cape Girardeau Riverfront Market's Youth Entrepreneurship Day, where she won a $500 grant to expand her business.
Through Candle Cruz, Mitzi hopes to inspire others to embrace their culture while pursuing their passions.
